Hello,
I have two different scripts that do pretty much the same thing. The main
perl script is on Windows. It runs and in the middle of it, it then calls
out another perl script that then should run on a Unix box I have. Both
scripts run ok, except for the part when Windows try's to call out the
Unix script. I have it set up where the Unix is mapped through a drive
letter and can drop stuff into the Unix box. It is going through another...

Hi all,
I have a perl program which makes a user exit to the O/S (unix, solaris)
to issue a O/S command. I know that the shell it invokes is NOT a
korn shell, because I captured the shell info into a file with a
'ps' command. My question is "How to explicitly specify a Korn shell to
be used by perl?"

Hi.
I need some help converting some php to perl.
$meminfo = shell_exec( "free -o" );
I need to execute "free-o" in shell and get the results.
It grabs memory information about a linux webserver.
If it is also possible to run a regular expression on this data that
would also be great.
It then outputs it in a nice format.

We currently send product releases to our customers, and often have to
include scripts that need to be ran on the Oracle databases (also do
it for SqlServer customers, but we use a different set of scripts for
that). Some of the Sql scripts can be quite long, and so we break
them out to their own script files and call them all from one main
..sql file, using sqlplus to execute it all.

I'm trying to execute a PERL script on the web server when the user presses
a button in an ASP.NET Web Application using Visual Basic. The most obvious
solution for me seemed to be to use the 'Shell()'-command .
This didn't work: Either I get an "File not found" error, or I get no error
at all, but the PERL script isn't executed anyway. The strange thing is that
I managed to execute a .bat file for example. Why the hell...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
