Binding wave files in my perl EXE

1 New Member
I created a PERL script to play a wave file using Win32::Sound

All went well.

So then I was trying to create an executable file with the wav files bound inside it using Activestate Dev kit 6.0...

When I create the EXE I can bind the wave files to the EXE yet they will not play, unless I keep the original wave files in the local directory...

This seems to defeat the purpose of binding the files in the first place.

Do I need to rewrite my code if the files are to be bound to the exe?

Greeting list readers, I noticed that the wave read object has an *implementation dependent* setpos(pos) method. When reading audio files, it is useful to be able to set the position to a specific sample. While setpos(pos) may do this on certain implementations (haven't tried it), it would not be a reliable way to do it in a platform independent manner. Is anyone familiar with an alternative wave package that would let one...

Part II: Wave file - How to read to a buffer Wave (or Wav) is the standard format for storing audio data on the PC. As software developers, we are interested in the internal structure of the file so that we can open and read data correctly before transmitting it over the phone line. Fortunately, there are plenty of good articles on the internet addressing the wave file format. Here is one of them:...

PART III: Putting things together In part I we examined the modem to verify that it supported voice. If so, we took a note about the voice data format that we would use. In the second part, we prepared a wave file and implemented a piece of code in C# to be used by HomeZIX to read the wave file into a buffer. Now, it’s time to put things together to send out that buffer as an audio stream over the phone line to a designated phone number. ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
