good mod_perl/mysql object oreinted application

I am looking for a good mod_perl/mysql application to study. I have been
teaching myself perl for a few years now and have been doing things the
way I have interpreted documentation. There are several things that I
think I am doing wrong, at least in a design standpoint, I would like a
good mod_perl somewhat basic web based interface to mysql with some help
on object oriented design and request handling.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It may be a bad question, but.. What is the difference between Object Oriented Language and Object Orinted Srcipting? The code is simplier in scripting than the code in other programming language? or.. Thanks, Ching

I am trying to learn the basics of MVC applications using a Tomcat infrastructure. I'm starting by building a simple application with: * a login.jsp page for a basic login form with a action pointing to "loginValidate.jsp" * a loginValidate.jsp page that references logic to validate requests * a loginBean class used to pass info between the JSP and validation logic * a usersDAO class used to perform lookups in a USERS

I've noticed that when I reboot a hung server (S1) that was using mod_perl to gain access to a remote mysql server (S2), the mysql threads on S2 persist even after S1 returns to active duty. This can (did) lead to the dreaded "Too many connections" error. I really don't want to hup S2/mysqld if I have a runaway S1. is there a way to test/purge the status of threads either from S1 or from S2? bob.

I tried mod_perl. It is too troublesome. Many old scripts stopped running. Even those running eat memory like crazy. I wonder why mod_php does not have the problems in mod_perl, such as memory hog, varible initialization etc. Is there a way to use Perl scripts at the same speed of PHP without worrying about those clearing varibles etc in mod_perl.

Hi, I've built apache under a temp dir so I can package and install it, which I have done. I also have built and installed perl this way. Now I'm trying to build mod_perl under a temp directory to package. Unfortunately when running: mod_perl $ DESTDIR=~/buildroot/ make install

I am writing a web application that is comparable to a content management system used in blogging. I really want to use Python after having done some evaluation coding using Python 2.3.5 with mod_python 3.1.4 running on Apache 2.0 with the Publisher handler. However, I am still very hesitant to settle on Python. All my research brings up the same collection of scant articles and old mailing list messages that reference each other. I am...

An ISP I belong to uses Majordomo for their mailing list system. I'd like to encourage them to move to a system that uses a database, preferably psql which they already run on their server. Anything out there in Php?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
