Hi
my program should run on terminal server. I open Acrobat process and I
have to kill them at some points in my application. This fails cause
of insufficient rights on terminal server.
the lines:

Suppose we spawn a child process with Popen. I'm thinking of an
executable file, like a compiled C program.
Suppose it is supposed to run for one minute, but it just keeps going
and going. Does Python have any way to kill it?
This is not hypothetical; I'm doing it now, and it's working pretty
well, but I would like to be able to handle this run-on condition. I'm
using Windows 2000, but I want my program to be portable to linux.

Hi.
I am trying to close/kill all processes that show visible windows on
Windows XP. So far I've created a script that uses win32gui.EnumWindows
to iterate through all windows, check for which windows are visible,
then send a WM_CLOSE message to the window to request that it closes.
Of course, not all apps want to close nicely. At this point I need to
use something like TerminateProcess to kill the app, but how do I find
the process id...

Google indicates that wx.Process.Kill hadn't been implemented some
time ago in wxPython for Win32. Is that still the case? It's kind of
a drag since several sources (including wxPython wiki) strongly advise
(by my reading and intended use) using wxProcess over the built-in
stuff, but it's not entirely useful if I can't kill long-running
processes from an external driver.

I have the following problem: I have written a short Python server
that creates an indefinite simulation thread that I want to kill when
quitting (Ctrl-C) from Python. Googling around has not given me any
hints on how to cleanly kill running threads before exiting. Any help

I am using Win32::OLE GetObject to do that. But I am getting following error
Error1: When my remote machine is on same domain as of local machine

Because C# has no native SSH class, I am using SharpSSH. Sometimes, for
reasons I do not know, a Connect call will totally lock up the thread and
never return. I am sure it has something to do with weirdness going on with
the server I am talking to. Anyhow, this locked up state happens once in a
while (maybe once per day) and I can't figure out how to deal with the locked
up thread.
If I issue a Thread.Abort() the exception never...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
