I know this is an old question, but searching all over the internet plus several MS security conferences, still haven't got a straight anwser. Basically, the login.aspx is on one dedicated server in the domain using AD. ASP.NET applications run on other servers (not neccessary in domain) and trying to use authentication server. How could this be done? - Most response says you need to set MachineKey the same, but that alone doesn't...

I'm using Microsoft's own VB.NET FTP Example: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;832679 I can get the program to create directories, change directories, etc., but I can't get it to upload a file to the FTP server. I just get a "Cannot connect to remote server" error after this TRY: s = New Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp)

I'm having trouble creating a simple login page using the asp:login control. I followed some instructions in a WROX book, "Beginning ASP.NET 2.0," and the instructions are very straight forward, but it won't work for me. Here's what I did. 1. Created a new folder named "testlogin" 2. Turned that folder into an application using the IIS properties 3. Created two new web form pages, /testlogin/default.aspx and /testlogin/login.aspx...

I followed some instructions in a WROX book, "Beginning ASP.NET 2.0," and the instructions are very straight forward, but it won't work for me. I've got a little better troubleshooting information for everyone now. First, here's how I set this stuff up... 1. Created a new folder named "testlogin" 2. Hello All: I used a Login control to authenticate a user to login. The problem is that when I login with good username & password, the login view would say that the login was successful. But for some reason the login control does not redirect the control to DestinationPageUrl. Even when I hardcoded to redirect to another page, it still remains in the same page on successful login.

We just switched our web application from .NET 1.1 to 2. Once client can't login out of several that have been successful. They enter a correct user name and password, click the login button and they are redirected back to login with no errors or login failure. The same login account works fine from other machines at different locations. This client had no problem logging in before we switched. The login procedures are essentially the...

I have a Login.aspx page that takes care of all my login procedures (validation, lockouts, password change requirements, password retrieval, etc.) It works like a charm. However, now I'd like a "quick login" control to appear in the banner at the top of my master page. This control will just have a username and password textbox and login button. I want to reuse all the same code. Plus, if the credentials are incorrect, or additional...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
