Hi! First of all, I hope my problem is not too loosely tied to the "standard C++" that is the topic of this group. I have some code that exhibits a strange behaviour: on one computer, where I compile with g++-3.2 it compiles and works fine, on another computer, whether I compile with g++-3.0 or g++-2.95 (unfortunately 3.2 is not available) it crashes with a segmentation violation on runtime.

Dear all, I have simulated the windows MULTI application with a java program calling the SQLTP1DL proc referenced as DB2DARI application, on Linux Intel or ZLinux. If the proc is NOT FENCED, there is no pb and the program works fine. If either the proc is FENCED, or FENCED THREADSAFE, I get a SQL1042C, or the instance crashes on ZLinux (V8.1 FP4). The proc does a return(SQLZ_HOLD_PROC): $ /opt/IBMJava2-131/bin/java sqltp1ri 1

If I have a Windows application with no form--only a module that starts with sub main and which has a system timer, in the elapsed event of which I want to run some code, how can I keep this program from running through the sub main code and then closing without ever firing the timer? I can put Do While 3 <> 2 Loop

Is there any value to pursuing program designs that mimimize the mainline call stack? For example, within main() I could code up something like: while(GetMsg(m)) DispatchMsg(m); instead of doing Program.Run() from main() or even worse calling Run() from the Program constructor.

Hi, I'm having a problem with my program and I think it stems from me not understand how to call a function and return a int value to main. What I have to do is create a program that runs through the numbers and find the perfect numbers and list their factors. I cannot use pointers or a table array or formulae. And I need to have a seperate function from main doing all of this.

I have this scenario: several arrays for which I have their fixed values at compilation time. Now, at runtime I need to access a specific array depending on an integer but I want to avoid if and switch statements. My first approach was to rely on partial template specialization. Therefore, I have: // .h file template <int vSomeClass;

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the Callback method. I have a .dll that I call from a sub in my unmanaged code/calling program. That works just fine. But I'd like to have the .dll finish doing it's thing before returning to my calling program. Right now, with the code I've been testing with, the calling program goes to the .dll and then returns back to the calling program without letting the .dll do it's thing. Just having a hard time...

Here is the output from phpinfo() on my laptop running windows vista. As you can see mysql is mentioned several times in the output. I'm not sure why i get this error. Php scripts that i save in the htdocs folder seem to work as long as mysql is not called. Any ideas? Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
