Is there anything that gives a good description of how source code is
converted into a translation unit, then object code, and then linked. I'm
particularly interested in understanding why putting normal functions in
header files results in multiple definition errors even when include guards
are used.

I have an Access 2000 front end that I wish to work with a SQL Server
2000 database by means of Linked tables.
Do I have to use an ODBC connection to SQL Server?
It seems to be the only option offered in the table linking dialog.
Is there a more direct connection with OLE_DB?

Hi!!
Years ago I built a database to control the production of a little
factory.
The users wanted to work in a Windows Net workgroup so I created an
mdb with all the tables and data an after that every user had his own
mde linked to the main mdb.
Year by year, progressively the number of records has been growing and
the speed of the application has decreased strongly, because of the
grrrreat number of records stored.

I've been struggling with this problem for some time and have tried
multiple solutions with no luck.
Let me start with, I'm a novice at Access and I'm not looking for
someones help to design my database, just help in getting me pointed in
the right direction.
I have a database with 8 tables, which from what I have read, cannot be
linked on a single form, and be updatable. I have created a query
which includes all 8 tables, and then...

I have two subforms on my main form. I want the records on subform B

I want the records on subform A to let me know if there is a

to see for myself. Take a look at the screenshots of what I am

Hi Folks,
I have 3 forms I want to link, so that when I advance 1 record in one
form it will update the other two with the same record in the first
form.
I have tried using the form wizard (I am not an Access pro), but when I
add the fields of 3 tables the wizard balks. I have been told to use
the link master, but it is greyed out when I try linking.
I can use Access 2000 or 2003

I have a database where, when I put 3 forms on one form they link fine
and auto fill in information as they should; however, when I try to use
the Tab Control form I am having trouble having to re-type information
(it isn't auto filling as it should). Any ideas?

Hi all,
I am trying to hid a command button which links two forms. The forms
are connected by a one-to-many relationship and the second form has
details on the first. But if no details are avaliable I don't want the
command button to appear. I've been working with an "If/Then"
statment, but now the command button never appears.
Here is the statement I have

I have been working on an all AJAX/DOM web site which is set to go live today and I thought I'd share my discoveries with all of you whom have helped me when I have encountered different issues along the way.
First, deep linking is not something that a completely AJAX web site should be able to do by it's very nature of everything being on one page basically. So how can a person deep link to something that is on one page?
This question...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
