Finding (unused) modules

I'm looking for an easy way to find unused modules in a perl program.

I can do it by hand, but it's slow, error prone and boring. The task is not
made easier by the fact that some modules are exporting subs and hashes and
that the coding style in general best can be described as 'varied'.

I could, to my surprise, not find any solution on CPAN.

Access 2000 - Is there a 3rd party tool available, or perhaps some method built into Access 2000, which could isolate unused Access reports, queries, forms, etc? I have a 5 year old app which has not always been cleaned up. I know there are quite a few such no longer used items. I have a "Find" utility which is good, but I need to look for every component individually - it is very time consuming because there are hundreds of components...

hi all I'm a newbie to this group. my apologies if I break any rules. I've wrote a simple program to find the first 1,000,000 primes, and to find all primes within any range (up to 200 * 10^12) it's pretty efficient, it took 15 minutes to compute the first 1,000,000 primes.

Greetings, In my C# project, I'm using a third-party Opensource library... in source code form. I mean no assemblies, just pure source code. It allows me to add new application-specific functionality to that library, finetune it, and see how things work. Well, the problem is that the library is quite huge, so the application's size gets not really acceptable - I'm developping for an

What's the simplest way to determine which, if any, of my selectors are not needed in a given stylesheet? I have a small number of HTML pages that share two stylesheets; one stylesheet is for display purposes and one is for printing. I suspect that some of the selectors in my stylesheet are no longer needed due to deletions of parts of the HTML pages and would like to remove those selectors from my stylesheets. But I'd like to avoid a...

At work we have a fairly large application (about 20 packages, 300+ modules) that looks like we might be heading into a bit of a plateau stage. Now seems like a good time to identify and delete old, unused code that's flown under the radar screen for awhile simply because nobody was looking for it. Trouble is, most of that unused code consists of module-level classes, functions and variables, so it's hard to distinguish mechanically from...

Hello, I want to compile and link a program statically against the dietlibc. Of course, the dietlibc includes functions my program never needs. Is there any way to throw them out of the final executable? Is there maybe a program that cuts them away from the source code of the dietlibc? I am using gcc. Joris

Daniel Fetchinson wrote: Style-checkers will help with this. pylint, pychecker, and pyflakes are all good tools. I tend to use pyflakes most often. It's small and doesn't do as much as the others, but it does unused imports and undefined name checks much faster than the others. I can run it compulsively on my file. -- Robert Kern

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
