iFS or Lobs + InterMEdia

Hi all,
Trying to find out what is the best solution for storing documents (all
kinds) in Oracle (8.1.7). What would you suggest? The documents must be
linked to existing objects in the database (person, department), can that be
done using iFS?
As I understand whith iFS it is very simple to open a word-document in MS
Word, but how do I open a word-document in MS Word that is stored in a blob?
Can't find any dbms_lob command for it.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Tove
