Copy (Import) Data from Oracle Database To Another

3 New Member
I want to Copy a data from One oracle database to another.

I have checked Import/Export Utility but the problem is import utility doesn't support conflicts resolution techniques between rows.

For Example if there's a table in the source database have the same row key in the destination database. if i use 'Ignore' parameter with value = y, the destination table will have a duplicate rows.

I want to ask if there's another way to import data from oracle database to another with some mechanism of detecting the conflicts and resolve them?

If table source is not so big you can define dblink and use merge statement when you load data into destinatinon table.

If source table is big then the best will be to import data from a file into some temp table, and then merge this temp table rows into destination table.

Here you can find info abt dblink http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/...ments_5005.htm and merge statement http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/...ments_9016.htm.

How does one import data INTO a table. I am forced to read files (\i) w/ a ton of insert statements. I am trying to import approx 800 lines into the table. However, I must bundle them into a series of files because of the bug in PGSQL (the buffer overflows). Interestingly, the literature claims that the one feature of PostgreSQL is SPEED. HA! Reading a single file w/ all the same inserts into MySQL takes literally a fraction of a...

I have a 6.5 db that I want to create a copy of, I can move it to either a machine running 7 or 2000. I am more used to doing this in Oracle so pls bear with me... I don't want to have any downtime on the 6.5 db, so I'm thinking perhaps import is the best way to go? I am assuming that 6.5 backups are not comaptible with either 7 or 2000 restore, or I'd go that route. The database in question is fairly simple, pretty well just tables...

Hello all. SQL 2000 newbie here. I've done a lot of development in Access, but the limitations of that program have me looking at upsizing to SQL 2000. In my current project I need to import some data on a regular basis from an Oracle database. I've installed the Oracle client and used the Import/Export wizard to set up a DTS package to pull in the data. The query I have in the package works (its rather simple), and going into the...

Hello Guys. I would like to know if there is a way , which can prevent users to import data from an access database to another. I have a database that I do not want users to be able to copy the data (tables, forms, reports, query, macros, modules etc) of this database to another one (using the import option of MS Access). Thanks in advanced.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
