SQL Commands to interact with Windows Files in 9iR2

HI,
I am currently working with Oracle OLAP 9i. We have some old express syntax
in our OLAP Web Agent application
which doesn't seem to work in 9i, where we require to check for and get a
list of certain files sitting on the Server.

I have not been able to find an alternate command in OLAP DML/Express SPL to
do this in 9i, so was wondering is there any SQL commands to allow you to do
this?

I have Express / VB knowledge, but my SQL / Relational knowledge is a bit
rusty.

regards,
Imran

I am just fed up with people that post to every usenet group they can
spell so yes I know the answer but no I'm not going to tell you. Please
repost to a single usenet group and then you will get a response. What
keeps happening is that we all pile on and it profilerates everywhere
and this is just ridiculous.

This message should be at c.d.o.server ... and nowhere else.

See what pain from a broken leg can do for you. ;-)

Do what I do, create a canned text file to include something like
what follows after the dashes. In this case the OP did crosspost but
did not set a followup.
-------------------------------------------------------
Net Etiquette/Newsgroup tip:

If you want to send the same message to more than one NG, CROSSPOST!

Some will argue that you not even crosspost do to the amount/type
of newsgroups that we have today.

As an example to post to "comp.os.linux. security", and
"comp.os.linux. hardware", use the following Newsgroups line:
Newsgroups: comp.os.linux.s ecurity,comp.os .linux.hardware

See http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/usenet/xpost.html

You conserve resources on NNTP servers, and other readers
see the follow up answers and do not have to provide the same answer.
It makes it much harder to keep track of a discussion.
Also, once a reader has "read" a message in one group, they do
not have to see it again unless someone has provided a follow up.

Daniel,

Instead of answering all the posts and trying to educate all
those that would violate this rule, just configure your
newsreader to ignore multi-posted newsposts.

What an absolutely wonderful idea.

Please tell me how to do that with Netscape Navigator 4.8 so I too can
avoid getting upset about cross (and multi) posts.

Hm... I don't know that newsreader. I would assume you could
find it.

I can't. That's why I asked.

And since it appears that my newsreader can not handle cross posts, I
assume there might be others with the same limitation. Perhaps the
answer lies in netiquette rather than technology, after all? (Just a
thought.)

Do you understand that the charter of these groups specifically bans
crossposting these groups?

http://members.cox.net/oracleunix/ORACLECH.HTM

There is a work in progress on a readme for this newsgroup for new
users at http://www.dbaoracle.net

There is also an open issue as to whether a periodic faq should be
posted. Use google to find that.

@home.com is bogus.

I'd like to see him explain Oracle performance tuning.

Sorry about that. Mine allows me to do so. The functionality I
actually use is a different flavor of it. I have it notice the
message-id so I only read the message once, no matter how many
groups it shows up in.

Well, I wouldn't think the scolding responses held so little
water if the people yelling about them also were good usenet
citizens and sufficiently trimmed their posts (Daniel is a big
offender in this regard). If one wants to measure the affect on
usenet experience, not sufficiently trimming one's posts if far
more of a gregious error against usenet humanity than
cross-posting.

A separate, tailored, vote on the periodic FAQ for each of the CDO
newsgroups was asked (in each NG) on Dec 24, 2003. Amusingly we have
received a total of 3 responses, including mine.

So, after reading some messages about os.system, and looking at the popen stuff and trying it a bit, I still have not found a way to keep a command window open for several commands (on Windows 2000/XP), while seeing the normal output in a command window. All I want to do is do what a batch file does, but I want to actually have functions and associative arrays and all the other niceties of python. What's the deal with that? I thought...

I have an issue where I have three Cases that SHOULD act the same but don't. If you look at the code below you will see that the general premise is to open a MSWord template and then use SendKey commands to get it to save the file using a new name (NewFName is assigned earlier in the code). A couple of issues to keep in mind. These are MailMerge templates that are attached to a Text Deliminted File (a separate one for each Case, i.e....

I want to make a web application that will run on my home server and would like to be able to have the web application interact with another, winforms application. For example, let's say I wanted to go to an aspx page, click a button called "open notepad", then on ther server machine I would like to have the web app interact with a service installed on my server that handles the execution of different files. Does that makes sense?
