Shared Physical Storage .. in Windows Server systems

Hello,

Thank you for replying to my previous doubts. I have a query regarding
Shared Storage. Here is my strategy.

I have two system with 20 GB HDD running on Windows 2000 Server and an
external storage 200GB. The external storage is partitioned into two
100 GB partition.
I want to keep only the Oracle 9i database in one of the 100GB of the
external storage. The external HDD is made to have no Operating System
just the database.
i am using this thrid external storage so that the other two system
can access it without any problem.
So thats what i want. Now the request is .. I need the Oracle 9i
installation procedure on Windows 2000/2003 Server with the above
characteristics .Can anyone help me ?

Ideas based on either Windows 2000 server or Windoes 2003 Server will
be an aid.

regards,

I'm just throwing this question out here as there hasn't been much discussion recently on the topic of shared hosting. Most people, it seems, just assume that it's secured. Companies don't sell services that's insecured by design, right? Those of us who know better know, of course, that that's not the case. Two main challenges of sharing a server with other people are hiding your database login/password and securing session files. Both...

Hello all. Before my arrival at my current employer, our consultants physically set up our MSSQL 7 server as follows: drive c: contains the mssql engine drive d: contains the transaction log drive e: contains the data files No filegroups were set up and the data files consist of only 1 large physical file. Currently, our data file is >10GB. When I was trained on the physical aspects of sqlserver, I was told to never create physical...

Hi We run SQL 2000 on Windows 2000. The database has one big table with approx. 90m rows in it, it also as 4 indexes on it, one of them is a clustered index. They physical size of the database is approx. 50Gb I am planing to migrate the database to more powerful server. My question is on the new server would we get any benefit from have say 5 x10 Gb file for the database as opposed to a single 50GB file.

Hello, We are considering a project that requires implementing a database (Windows PC based) that would be shared by a small number of users. The database would store events output by our networking device, and any of the users could generate reports based on the stored event data. This would be for small, low-cost systems, not large enterprise systems with big commercial databases and dedicated servers.

I have this nasty problem with Shared methods and what I think of as "global storage" - i.e. storage declared outside of any subroutines or functions. In the simple example below this "global" storage is ButtonHasBeenClicked. In this simple example code in Form1 calls a routine in Module1 which then calls code back in Form1 (subroutine WhatEver). WhatEver needs to access ButtonHasBeenClicked but the reference to ButtonHasBeenClicked...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
