if you do 9i its 4 tests plus a $2000 5 days class that is during the
workday.
if you do 8i its 5 tests then an upgrade test for 6 total.
how much money do you want to spend?
Computer training is a waste of money. its not interactive so you wont
retain much of anything. I just got the osborne books in a bundle. I
read the docs at OTN.ORACLE.COM for each section of the test. I also
read the concepts guide and the server concepts guide. Then i play
around with an instance I have at home. When I have trouble following
something, I search for it on dejanews.com or ask. Its important to
use more than just the study guides. Its easier that way, but you dont
have to buy anything.
You only need to get about 70% right or less on each test.
if youi have a technical background the classes are a waste of money.
They are 5 days all day long. Too fast to retain anything. If you dont
have technical experience, you wont get a job as a DBA anyway, so dont
waste your time. 1 1944
Hello Ryan,
I want you to understand that both Oracle 8i and 9i has equal
application in the industry. it is just that 9i is a more current
version of Oracle. If you have your certification in 8i it is more
or less the same as having it in 9i. However you will need an
upgrade exams.
For Now, I will advise you to go for 9i certification path.
As for books, There aare so many of them in the market, if you go to
Amazon.com you'll get a good number of them. being a beginer I will
advise you try hands on some Oracle publications from Osbourne Mc Graw
Hill. Try their web sites . I enjouy their books a great deal.
try as much as you can to get a hands on experience as it helps a lot in
securing a job.
BEST OF LUCK
Enjoy

I am working on a special ASP.Net application that receives files from

Hello,
I am trying to create a certificate for our internet for our employees so
that they can login to system from home. Do I have to go, for example,

since it is not actually a public web site?
Thanks,

Hi, I'd like to store X509 cetificates in a central location (file server,

implementation, can this be achieved by subclass 'securityTokenManager'? has
anyone done something similar and shed some lights on it?
thanks,

The Python SSL object offers two methods from obtaining
the info from an SSL certificate, "server()" and "issuer()".
The actual values in the certificate are a series of name/value
pairs in ASN.1 binary format. But what "server()" and "issuer()"
return are strings, with the pairs separated by "/". The
documentation at "http://docs.python.org/lib/ssl-objects.html"
says "Returns a string containing the ASN.1 distinguished name identifying...

If you want to maximize your chances, first get certified in 8i, then
write the delta exam to get certified in 9i also (it's only one more
exam). You can become certified easily without buying any book or
taking any class. Just use the manuals in tahiti.oracle.com (The
Concepts, backups and Administration manuals are probably enough).
Make sure to have Oracle at home to practice, and that should be
enough. Look also on www.oraclenotes.com...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
