Hello everybody
I am a software-engineering student and I'm supposed to get familiar
with Oracle Activity-Based Management. I've been using Oracle DB for a
couple of years, but Oracle ABM is something completely new for me.
Running through Oracle website I got a bit confused... Is it possible
at all to get it for free for educational purposes? I suppose it's a
part of Oracle Applications (or E-Bussiness Suite... is it the same?),
but I...

Hi all,
I'm trying to decide between two books for Oracle Financials security
- there seem to be two obvious possibilities. The books are "Oracle
E-Business Suite Financials Administrations" by Iyer, S., and "Oracle
E-Business Suite Financials Handbook 2nd Edition" by James, D.
Does anyone know if either is more useful from a security point of
view?

When I attempt to run a form created with Oracle9i Forms Builder I receive a
dialog box asking for the following info:
User Name:
Password:
Database:
I obviously know my User Name and Password, and I assume that the value I
use for Database is the value found in the tnsnames.ora file (in my case,
ORCL). However, when I do this I receive the following error:

Hi all,
I am thinking about becoming an Oracle developer. I have experience with
Centura Team Developer AKA SQLWindows, this is a front-end developer
environment for a variety of of database servers: Oracle, MS SqlServer,
Informix etc.
What is it like to work with the Oracle developer environment?
Is it nice or rather ok or so-so, or do you love it? For instance, does it
have a nice debugger, is it intuitive, logical, effective,...

Hi!
I'm using DB2 database on one server and ORACLE database on the second one.
I want to move some data from ORACLE database to DB2 database and update
some columns on ORACLE database so I know what rows were transfered. I'd
like to do this in a distributed XA transaction and Java. :)
How is this possible ?
Best regards,
Kovi

Hi everybody!
It seems like I don't have much luck with Oracle!
I've installed Oracle database 9i on my fedora box,
I've also successfully installed the most difficult Oracle AS 10.1.3.1 (or something)
on the same linux host.
Now I'm struggling to install Oracle Developer Suite, but I always
come across the same error:
/usr/lib/libXtst.so.6: undefined reference to« __fprintf_chk@GLIBC_2.3.4 »
/usr/lib/libXtst.so.6: undefined...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
