Oracle Forms

Hello everyone,

I'm an oracle database adminstrator and I search some information about
possibilities to create easy forms for data input (for example for test
data).

My Oracle release is now currently 9.2.0.5

Now i try use the Oracle Forms application.
I try to install the version 'Forms 6i R2' on my client PC with Windows
2000. The setup program install the software in the oracle8-home directory.

After i start the application i can't connect to a oracle 9 instance.

It is posible that a use the wrong version of Oracle Forms ??

thanks in advance

Thomas, we use Oracle Forms 6i from a UNIX developer server with a
9.2+ database so that should not be the problem. How did you
configure the Oranet (sqlnet) connection?

You might try the comp.databases. oracle.tools board if this did not
help and you have not figured out the problem.

One thing I seem to rememeber is that Oracle Form 6i is NOT dual home
capable. That said, it has to be the first Oracle product installed.
Then you can install any 9i stuff. Also, make sure you build your
tnsnames using the network config tool provided by the forms install.

Q1. Whenever I run my form, it starts MSIE OK, but puts the characters http://%%20" in front of the URL, like this: http://%%20"http://W18670:8888/forms90/f90servlet?form=C:\ANPR\Source_v2\Forms\Frmmain&userid=user/password@database&buffer_records=NO&debug_messages=NO&array=YES&query_only=NO&quiet=NO&RENDER=YES" Every time I run the form, I have to delete these 12 characters from the front of the URL and hit enter and it runs fine. Why?...

I need to convert a 17mb access 2000 db to Oracle and house it in a Citrix farm. The issue: we have never converted an Access Db to Oracle but can probably use Oracle's Workbench to assist with this. Also - the citrix folks do not want us to keep the FE in Access as the queries and other activities consume a lot of power. The users will be in 3 different offices across the globe all accessing the 1 Oracle DB in Citrix. Does anyone have...

Hi, Is it possible to update oracle via Access forms? I am thinking maybe I could make a link table connnected with oracle database. And the form could be based on the link table. Does this sound feasible? Any better ways? Thank you.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
