Where do I get JDK 1.3 that Oracle Lite 5.0.2 wants?

I'm trying to install Oracle Lite 5.0.2 on Windows 2000. The
documenation says:

"If you do not have JDK 1.3 installed on your system,
the JDK 1.3 is not installed on your system" dialog box appears,
as shown in Figure 1-8.
You must install JDK 1.3 on your system before you proceed
with the installation of Oracle9i Lite Release 5.0.2."

That's true. But what the doc does NOT say, as far as I can tell, is:
Where the heck do I GET this JDK 1.3 that it wants?

Should I get this from the Oracle web site somewhere?
Or do I get the generic one from java.sun.com and install it?
Must I have one specific version of 1.3(.x)? Or will any later version
do?
Does a generic installation of JDK 1.3 put it in a place where the
Oracle Lite installation will find it?

Any help you can provide will be appreciated.

A colleague has written a prototype program in PHP, using a MySQL database. It's a relatively simple app, with a restricted set of mysql commands used (see below). The MySQL DB is being replaced with an Oracle DB (same schema). My plan 1) globally replace the few mysql commands with intermediate equivalents (such as myDB_connect for mysql_connect) 2) those central functions would then (for now) call the original mysql function to prove...

hi guys i m writing a VB.NET app using the Oracle Lite database as the data source. Got a problem with inserting unicode chars e.g. chinese into the database when using the dataadapter and dataset insert command. It gave a NullReferenceException. Followings are what i suspect might be causing the problem: 1. olbdbadapter of oracle for .net not able to support unicode 2. oracle lite db not able to support unicode - i have directly...

We have several large Oracle databases that we are writing new front ends for in .Net. The applications will be Windows clients. We are looking for the best method for connecting with the Oracle database. The Microsoft data provider requires the Oracle client to be installed, a huge footprint at 250 meg. ODAC (from Oracle) is another 250 meg install. We aren't opposed to using ODBC (which requires Oracle Client as well) for whatever...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
