get default funtion of a column

Hi, Folks.

If I have table

create table t1(col1 number getnumber()) // getnumber is a funtion to
generate default value of col1.

How I can get this function string by a query on data dictionary
views?

Thanks,

do you mean that how you can get return value in data dictionary view
?

I think this function will be executed on fly if you are trying to
insert in this table.

I'm not perfectly certain that I understand your question correctly,
but here goes anyway.

If you are trying to get to see the code for that function to see what
it does, you may find it in the DBA_SOURCE view. The statement below
work for me to get the code for one of my functions:

select line
, substr(text,1,1 00) as SourceCode
from dba_source
where owner = 'BBC'
and name = 'XKLUB'
order by line asc;

Hope this helps.

From the Python's tutorial, about default argument values: <quote> The default value is evaluated only once. This makes a difference when the default is a mutable object such as a list, dictionary, or instances of most classes. For example, the following function accumulates the arguments passed to it on subsequent calls: def f(a, L=): L.append(a) return L

Hi I have a table that currently has 466 columns and about 700,000 records. Adding a new DEFAULT column to this table takes a long time. It it a lot faster to recreate the table with the new columns and then copy all of the data across. As far as I am aware when you add a DEFAULT column the following happens:

I have properties that wrap DataRow columns as in: public int aNumber { get{ return m_DataRow; } set{ m_DataRow = value; } } If the column happens to contain DBNull, I get a cast exception since DBNull cannot be converted to int. I wrote the following method that looks up the column's data type and if it is a ValueType, returns the default value for the ValueType.

I am designing a new table with a few columns that may or may not have a value on each row that is inserted. What issues determine whether to allow a NULL value to be inserted for that column or define a default value to be used? I want to think through the repercussions of this decision before I get into production.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
