SQLMENU50 :: user not authorized to use SQLMENU

Dear all,

The problem i faced is like this.

I installed oracle7.3 on HP unix 10.2.
Oracle is running fine but when i tried to open SQLMENU50 and logined
as some user user/user . It is not able to even login. The error
message is::"user is not authorized to use sqlmenu*50".

But i am able to login through SQLPLUS user/user.

The thing to note is that if i login with system/manager in SQLMENU50
its running fine.

I am new to ORACLE and same with SQLMENU and all...

Can somebody help me in this regard?

Your suggestions are most welcome.

My e-mail id is av***********@y ahoo.com

Hello, I have a site that uses windows authentication and I demand credentials for files inside a specific folder. (through web.config). My problem is that when I try to read something from my access database with a user that is not yet authorized I always get an error. (I am using a datareader with oledb that works perfectly for authorized users). I do not want to give access to unauthorized users for the specific folder for security...

Some time ago I set up an ASP application that used a login page which checked a username and password against a database to determine a users authorization to access certain pages on the site. This was done by setting a session variable within the application if the user was authorized and using code one each page for which protection was required to check for the status of the session variable. Now I am aware of the various techniques...

In the past I always regarded user/group security as fairly tight. It is tricky to implement, but once implemented properly, it can't be cracked except through a dedicated effort. Recently, however, I saw something which greatly lowered my opinion of user/group security. I sent a secured database to a colleague. I forgot to send him the workgroup file, but that didn't slow him down at all. The next day, he sent me the work I had...

I have a .NET 1.1 WinForms application that used to only hit SQL Server 2000. We are now contemplating moving to SQL Server 2005. To test this, we set up a SQL Server 2005 box and installed the web services and client application on the same box. When the application tries to call a web service that it could normally call in the past, it get's the following error: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: User Not Authorized

I'm trying to upload an image but I get this error: ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
