I have a question about oracle commit and transactions. Following scenario:
Process A performs a single sql-INSERT into a table and commits the
transaction. Then he informs process B (ipc) to read the new date. So
process B starts "select ..." but does not get the previously inserted
row. The timespan between commit and select is very short.
(NOTE: two different sessions are used)

Hi all,
Is there a DB2 equivilant to Oracle's DB Link functionality ? I have two
DB2 databases and I need to get access to the tables in one from the other.
In Oracle I would just create a DB Link between the two instances. Is such
a thing possible between two DB2 databases ?

Hi,
I am having a hard time creating a Trigger to update an Oracle
database. I am using a SQL Server 2005 Express database on a Win XP Pro
SP2 desktop, linked to an Oracle 10g database on a remote Windows 2003
server. Both machines are on the same domain and very close physically
(<1ms ping).
I have set up the Oracle linked server in SQLEXPRESS, added the
login/pw information, and I can execute select and update queries

Hi!
I'm using DB2 database on one server and ORACLE database on the second one.
I want to move some data from ORACLE database to DB2 database and update
some columns on ORACLE database so I know what rows were transfered. I'd
like to do this in a distributed XA transaction and Java. :)
How is this possible ?

ALL DDL does a commit. Hence Drop Table movies; issues a commit. True you
don't issue a commit and the driver does not issue a commit, but the server
does for all DDL.
That is probably where your commit is coming from.

I have a insert trigger on a table. I want commit to happen after
insert before invoking the trigger. So that if a quey is made before
the completion of the trigger.Modified Data should be visible.
Let me explain the why i want this.
The triger calls a java stored procedure which invokes an external
ejbclient which calls the ejb. The ejb queries the database for the
