Hie all,
I am currently using materialized views within Oracle 9i.
For instance I create mv1 on DB bddist2, as a snapshot of sur1 on bddist1 :
SQL> create materialized view mv1
2 refresh force
3 start with sysdate
4 next sysdate+1/(24*60)

It seems that you can not create a materialized view if you are using
outer joins...can someone please verify this?
Thanks
M. Mehta
Please follow my example below:
created 2 tables:

Do not trust values returned by materialized views under SQL Server
without frequently checking underlying tables!!!
I already posted this message under microsoft.public.sqlserver.server
and I'm amazed nobody from Microsoft answered about this problem. By
inserting lots of data into our two main tables for about 30 minutes,
we can fail our materialized view that performs a count_big on those
two tables.
Executing (after of course...

Hello,
I have a few rather urgent questions that I hope someone can help with (I
need to figure this out prior to a meeting tomorrow.) First, a bit of
background: The company I work for is developing a web-based application,
one part of which involves allowing the user the ability to page through
transaction "history" information.
The _summary_ history table will have the following fields: ServiceName,
Date, User-Ref1, User-Ref2,...

Hi,
I first created a materialized view that was based on the org striped views like po_headers hence the automatic refresh was not happening.
After automatic complete refresh, the materialized view was showing null records.
Hence I based the materialized view on "_all" tables and then based a view on this materialized view and this view I made org striped.
In the materialized view , I was refering to...

hello ...
i am running into a couple of questions regarding materialized view logs.
my goal is to take data from an oracle database and replicate it to some
remote data store (maybe some other datastore can poll the materialized
view log or so).
the idea is: if i could simply replicate the changes made to a
materialized view it would be perfect.
i have come across materialized view logs but i don't really know how to
treat them...

I have a query thats taking long time to execute. So i have created a Materialized view to refresh it every hour. But when the Materialized view is being refreshed, there is no data in the Materialized view table. I think it truncates the table before every refresh.
Is there any way to keep the old data while its being refreshed.?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
