you might start with that one: http://www.highrankings.com/faq-domain-change - but if you google: 'How can we minimize traffic loss after a domain name change?' you get plenty of results that will be useful.

By using 301 permanent redirection you can drive the traffic from old website to new website.

By making all the necessary steps, but mainly it is 301 redirection (moved permanently) to the new domain pages.

Suppose I register a domain name, MyDomain.com, through register.com (or any other of the many domain name registrars). I own the domain name. The domain name goes into the global DNS database. As the facilitator in this process, exactly what does the registrar *own* with respect to my specific domain name and/or the registration process? Briefly, what role does InterNIC play in all of this?

Not a dotnet question yet, although the site will be dotnet. Anyway, I have a cable modem and dynamic (although pretty static) IP address. How can I use a domain name if the real ip can change? I see things like NO-IP.com which seems to offer this service for free. Is this the recommended approach?

Can you change the domain name in an HTTPModule? I have seen examples of changing the relative url in an HTTP Module, such as the following: protected void AuthenticateRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { HttpApplication app = (HttpApplication) sender; HttpContext objContext = (HttpContext) app.Context; objContext.RewritePath("mynewpage.aspx"); } However, I'd like to take a request from

I use two test servers and one production. I have a Utilities class that holds many of the links used through the site. One of the variables in this class is assigned the domain name. I need to automatically set this value depending on the server I'm on. The domain can be similar to any of the following depending on the server: - abc.com - 190.168.2.100 - 190.168.2.109

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
