Hi.
When I use VB.NET projects, Visual Studio refreshes the display when I
correct errors. (i.e. removes the blue and red lines under syntax errors
etc.)
But when I use C# projects, the display doesn't refresh until I do a build,
or a "View in browser". Can anyone help or have advice? This is VERY
frustrating for a beginner like myself having to rebuild every time I TRY to
correct something just to see if my syntax errors are fixed....

Crystal Reports doesn't seem to allow me to use enums (that have
integer values) in any crystal expressions. I know this goes kind of
against what they are trying to achieve, but this has been a major
stumbling block for me and I think if they truely want to integrate
with .NET they should somehow implement this.

Hi All,
We are trying to figure out why PHP's file handling functions refuses to
access the web root using the "/" character on our Windows machines. For
example, a file /test.php is located in our web root. A file in a
subdirectory, say /example/runme.php needs to find out if the file
"/test.php" exists. One would expect that the function
file_exists("/test.php") would return true (it does on our unix host).
However, it returns false...

I am trying to connect to the internet using a USB Ethernet adapter. It installs but won't connect to my dsl modem. The ethernet light on the modem doesn't even light up, though the same cable works plugged from the modem to the ethernet port on hubby's laptop. I thought the adapter was all I needed to connect..what am I missing?
Can someone please help point me in the right direction I really am stumped.

According to "Python in a Nutshell(2nd)", p. 523:
connect: s.connect((host, port))
....
Blocks until the server accepts or rejects the connection attempt.
However, my client program ends immediately after the call to
connect()--even though my server program does not call accept():

OK this is my situation:
This coming Friday I will be getting Telewest broadband installed in my house, along with my PC there are 3 other PC's and 1 Laptop, making a total of 5 all using Windows. We are hoping to set up a wired/wireless network after the broadband arrives so we can all use the internet at the same time (the broadband connection by the way is 750). I am told that the Telewest modem is ethernet compatible which apparently is a...

Hello all,
I have a USB modem stick and a PoE network device. I want to connect the device to the Internet using the USB stick. The device has no other interfaces, so I must use its RJ-45 port. I tried The following:
Plugged the device into a PoE injector on the data-out port and using a USB-to-Ethernet adapter I connected the USB stick onto the data-in port of the injector.
This has failed. The USB stick doesn't even light up.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
