Access point wired with just one machine

1 New Member
I want to make a wired connection to an access point from a PC, without connecting to the internet....tha t is "the PC" acts as a dead end.

Now configuring the access point with a SSID, would I be able to broadcast that SSID to which a wireless device can connect.

My question is whether it's essential for an access point to have some signal from the wired side or it generates its own signal. How can I generate some signal from "The PC" which access point can broadcast???
All I have is a "PC", a D-Link access point, a Laptop with a WLAN card

In this situation the PC would be your endpoint. Are you trying to create a wireless bridge? Or just a wireless share you can access when in physical proximity?

In the first case, you're connecting from your PC to your D-Link AP, to another AP, to another device - the PC could initiate the connection.

In the second case, you'd connect from a laptop, an iPhone, something with a wireless signal to the AP, which would then connect to the PC, the PC would not initiate communication or the connection.

What are you trying to do?

A client of mine likes some of the new bells and whistles in Access 2007, and is thinking about converting our A03 format MDB to an A07 format file. However, while some of the users have A07, many do not, and it's not clear when they would get it. His thought was to use the upcoming Access 2007 runtime to allow the users who are still running...

In my previous attempts at this, right after the release of 2007, I had problems with the installation dialog running every time I switched versions. Along with file association...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. For...
