Thank you for any help you can give me. I have a database that I've
been working on... a backend for the server and front ends for the
users. Now I've found out that the network is wireless and that
wireless & Access don't get along... I have been reading what I could
find in this group... but I would like to clarify.
The users have Windows XP... so I put the backend on the server in the
root directory and put a front end for each user...

I am having an issue with Visual Studio .net and consuming WEB
services. When I attempt to write a program to consume the service, I
get the message "The proxy settings on this computer are not
configured correctly for Web discovery."
I know that I need to make changes in IE's LAN SETTING area. However,
I am not on a network but behind a home wireless router. The router's
manual does not provide any info on what proxy setting to use...

So, Ive got this one business client that's got about 10 Windows XP machines on a network, and added a Windows Vista machine to the mix. The network is a mix of wireless and wired computers on a wireless router connected with a switch. The "server" is wired, and this vista machine is on a wireless usb dongle.
There's one XP machine that acts as a simple file sharing server, and at first the Vista machine wouldnt see it, but I could ping...

OK this is my situation:
This coming Friday I will be getting Telewest broadband installed in my house, along with my PC there are 3 other PC's and 1 Laptop, making a total of 5 all using Windows. We are hoping to set up a wired/wireless network after the broadband arrives so we can all use the internet at the same time (the broadband connection by the way is 750). I am told that the Telewest modem is ethernet compatible which apparently is a...

I have a Dell Dimensions 8200 Desktop(circa 2002) running Windows XP with
SP2. I just bought a D-Link DWA-130 Wireless N USB Adapter and I am trying
to connect this set up to a Mac Airport Extreme wireless Router. The PC
recognizes the wireless signal and correctly identifies the network.
However, when I attempt to connect, the PC does not connect. I have a
Toshiba laptop running Windows XP with SP2 that connected to the network
without...

Hi - I just bought an Asus laptop with wireless capabilities. I have a desktop that I've used for years that is hooked up to Cox cable for high speed internet through a Motorola SG5120 cable modem. The modem is ethernet / USB compatible, but it currently hooks to my desktop with a USB cable.
I bought a Linksys wireless router last night and tried to install. The first problem was that I couldn't hook the USB cable from the desktop...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
