What program are you using to receive it? Did you look into the specifications of what port and protocol is used, and allow that through your firewall?

As Sicarie says, you will need to look at your firewall manual and configure it to let in what you need. We wouldn't have the information required to give anything more specific.

Is there anyway to register an application with the various systems (like Windows firewall) to prevent the user from having to click the 'Allow action' or similar that pops up from applications like Windows Firewall?

I have made an desktop application which connects to a webservice running on a remote webserver. When my exe-file connects to the webservice, the firewall (my Norton Internet Security firewall, as well as the Windows XP SP2 firewall) always block this call. I was asked if something could be done about this, so you would not have to configure your firewall to run the app. Is there some other way to "talk" to a webservice so that a...

Hi First of all, this is my first post on a newsgroup so don't shoot me if I ask this in the wrong place. Here is the situation. I'm developing an asp.net application with access to a SQL Server 2000 on the companies network. On my development machine I have Bitdefender Internet Security v10 installed. Hi, The application we have developed uses JavaScript extensively. One of the users of the application is facing a problem. Instead of being hidden, the javascript code in the HTML is displayed or should I say, printed, on the browser. On viewing the rendered source, I'm seeing that all the "script" tags are rendered as "scrip!", "onLoad" as "onLoa!" in the HTML. Now I tried disabling Javascript on my browser but this did not happen with...

Hi - Can't see another newsgroup to post this in; so thought I'd post here. I have a C# application that relies on multicast UDP to detect how many PCs the application is executing on concurrently. This works okay providing the port is open but fails miserably if the port is blocked by a firewall. All applications provide a server listening on the port for the ping but for some reason on the PC sending the ping irrespective of...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
