Network machines not accessible

hi,
i have re-installed my os(win XP) in a machine in my network. my problem is i am not able to access any of my network machines nor my network machines access my machine. but i am able to browse internet which is shared among the machines. what could be the problem. please help......

Hmm, we need a bit more information. What is your setup? Are you going through a router, or are the computers themselves sharing the connection? Can you ping the other machines? Do you have access to those computers with your account?

hi sicarie,
my machines are connected using a router. i am not able to ping that machine alone and using remote desktop i am able to connect to a macine outside my network through internet using "remote desktop connection" but i am not able to connect to any of the machine within my network. when i try ping other machine i am getting "reply from 132.186.0.8: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128" but i am able to browse the internet from my machine which is shared among the other machines throught the router. please help

Hmm, we need a bit more information. What is your setup? Are you going through a router, or are the computers themselves sharing the connection? Can you ping the other machines? Do you have access to those computers with your account?
