Authentication required twice when using "net use"

Hi folks,

I am issuing the net use command on a couple of Win2003 servers. Some of these servers require that the name and password be authenticated twice and other servers just once, i.e.:

*************** *************** *************** *************** ******
C:\>net use p: \\pcp-web01\s
The password or user name is invalid for \\pcp-web01\s.

Enter the user name for 'pcp-web01': asdf
Enter the password for pcp-web01:
System error 1326 has occurred.

Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

*************** *************** *************** *************** ******
C:\>net use p: \\pcp-web02\s
The password or user name is invalid for \\pcp-web02\s.

Enter the user name for 'pcp-web02': asdf
Enter the password for pcp-web02:
Enter the user name for 'pcp-web02': asdf
Enter the password for pcp-web02:
System error 1326 has occurred.

Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
*************** *************** *************** *************** ******

So for web02 it asks for authentication twice?

Could someone point me in the right direction to look please?

Many thanks.

Hi, In my application, I need to copy data from an Excel file into a SQL table. The article related to this can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B306572 Using this,I am first extracting data from given excel file into a temporary DataTable. After making some operations on that DataTable (like splitting one column into two), I am saving the data into actual

I know that this topic has the potential for blowing up in my face, but I can't help asking. I've been using Python since 1.5.1, so I'm not what you'd call a "n00b". I dutifully evangelize on the goodness of Python whenever I talk with fellow developers, but I always hit a snag when it comes to discussing the finer points of the execution model (specifically, exceptions). Without fail, when I start talking with some of the "old-timers"...

I am going to outline the steps I go through to produce the problem. Hopefully this will help you understand the problem better I have created a simple COM DLL in .NET by using the COM class template and by setting output to a type library (DLL). All the object does is return a string value. At this point I have not checked the option to register for COM interop in Visual Studio So I go into Excel (where I want to use the object). Go to VB...

Using VB .Net 2003 Standard Edition. This simple form has a "File in Use" problem while the executable is running. Created this simple program to make sure that I hadn't done something in my code in the "real" project. In the "real" project, One part of the program saves multiple images and another part of the program moves the images to the appropriate directories based on user feedback.

Hi, I'm new to vb.net programming, and I keep getting this error: Name 'GetQuery' is not declared. I can't figure out why?? It seems like I have the right references/namespaces. This is my code below. Also, can someone explain to me what the ContentHandlerImpl.vb file actually does? It's in this project that I'm working with...but I'm not sure what the file actually does. Thanks!! Imports System.Xml Imports Lucene.Net.Documents

Hi, I would like some advice on whether I should be using plain "chars" for strings. I have instead been using "unsigned char" in my code (for embedded systems). In general the strings contain ASCII characters in the 0-127 range, although I had thought that I might want to use the 128-255 range for special symbols or foreign character codes. This all worked OK for a long time, but a recent update to the compiler on my system has...

Hello, I realize that this is a very basic question but is there an advantage to using Me.ControlName.Text over just using ControlName.Text? I have been leaving the Me. off but would include it if there are benefits. Thanks, Richard

I'm still confused about this and I can't find anywhere that explains it properly. I have the MS book "Access 2003" in front of me and I'm reading Part 5 about VB and so on. It's telling me about how to refer to a specific database and has the example:- Dim dbMyDb As DAO.Database Set dbMyDb = DBEngine.Workspaces(0).Databases(0)

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
