Ive seen several sellers, both retail and on ebay, who say that sql server
2000 developer
edition will run on windows xp home edition. Is this true? Some articles
I've seen imply yes
while other articles imply no. I'm trying to learn sql server and a lot of
books I've purchase
offer a 120 day evaluation. I'd prefer to buy an edition that I can afford
and will give me both
the server and tools.

Hi,
How can I get if the Windows running is a server version?
Is there a property somewhere that can tell me if the Windows version is a
server edition (including server, advanced server, web server, etc) or just
a workstation (if it's not a workstation, then it's a server). My app must
verifies that for security reasons. It should work from at least windows
2000 (Windows 98 and ME, would appreciated to, but if it's not possible,
I'll...

When running my asp.net hosting service (asp.net without IIS), on server
2003 with IIS not installed, I get the following when trying to process a
request.
"System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL (aspnet_isapi.dll)."
Of course the dll is able to be found, it's still in the framework directory
and for grins I even put it in my service's local directory. This is apparantly
server 2003 not allowing asp.net to be run if IIS was not...

Can I create NET applications where the data tier is enclosed within a Web
Service where the OS may be Win98SE, XP Home as well as XP Pro? The client
application is a NET Forms app not a ASP.NET app.
I understand this works when the server box is XP Pro but we also have to
support 98SE and XP Home. In our situation 90% of the time all the code
(server and client) will be on one box. However we need to design for the
90 and the 10%.

Hello.
I'm developing and testing a web application using VS.NET 2003, VB, .NET
Framework 1.1.4322, ASP.NET 1.1.4322 and IIS5.1 on a WIN XP Pro, SP2
computer. I'm using a web form.
How do I move this project/solution from a local development xp pro computer
which uses IIS/localhost, to another xp pro computer that is on a Windows
2003 server domain. I want to be able to use the Windows 2003 server IIS
instead of localhost.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
