Analog is a popular web log analyzer and report generator. I wrote a small Python helper for it today for my Dev Manager, looked for similar stuff via Google, and came up dry. Just curious if anyone else has similar snippets; I thought I might try to make a moderately-complete Python library module for Analog. Reply with links, discussion, or code. :) Robert Brewer MIS

Hi, can I make sure that Python uses only async-signal safe glibc functions in signal handlers? For example, you must not call malloc or free in signal handlers, see http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/functions/xsh_chap02_04.html#tag_02_04_03 The reason is, that if a signal is caught while your program is in the malloc routine, and the signal handler calls malloc or free again, then the heap will be corrupted, probably...

Hi everyone, I'd like to know when and how signals are used (e.g. SIGFPE, SIGABRT, SIGTERM, SIGSEGV, SIGINT)? Thank you so much.

In Harbison and Steele's text (fourth edition, p.111) it is stated, The C language does not specify the range of integers that the integral types will represent, except ot say that type int may not be smaller than short and long may not be smaller than int. They go on to say, Many implementations represent characters in 8 bits, type short in

Hi everyone Has anyone got the least experience in integrating the Digital Signature with an ASP.NET Web Application? Here in Denmark, as I supose in many other countries, they're promoting the digital signature. A lot of people already has one, to do their taxes, and much more. I have to use for a business-to-business e-commerce solution, where it's vital that the right user is being logged on, and not give his username and password...

Any body know a neat trick to put a analog clock on a form that would be updated by a timer? Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-eight million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital...

Hi, I posted an equivalent question earlier ... but am still not sure: I currently (under Linux) have a program that uses Queue.put (raw_input('')) in a signal handler and Queue.get() in the main/only thread. It works but I want to know if it is legal / what type of synchro API I have the right to use in a signal handler.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
