Hello. I’m working with the Windows Media Encoder SDK to create an online jukebox for myself, but I’m having problems getting it to work. Here’s what I want to do: I’ve got a large collection of mp3 files that I listen to at work from my home server. I simply share them out from IIS and then open playlist files in WMP to play lists of songs. This works well fairly well. However, most of my mp3s are encoded at 192kbps or higher,...

Hi All. I am looking for articles on Windows Media development in ASP.NET pages. Dynamically adding playlists etc. Can I use server side code or is it all client side controlled? Spent the last few hours browsing the web and not feeling any wiser. If anybody has links that begin to answer any of the above , please forward them to me. In advance many thanks Phil

Recently I tried installing the Windows Media Encoder SDK 9.5. Big mistake :-(, it's only got C++ support at this time and seems to have caused me a problem with my code, as well as refusing to roll back properly. I had it working fine - reading media files and converting them to WMVs. After installing this pack though, the encoder seems to have switched to some 'realtime' mode where it drops frames to maintain a 1.0x speed while...

Hi all, I have a question about windows media encoder (WME) closed captioning. Does WME maintains the Line-21 closed captioning? In other words, does windows media encoder pulls closed captioning from line-21 off of the video feed and automatically builds the closed captioning into the Archive file? Thanks very much in advance for your help and time. Best regards, Jerry

We have an ASP.NET web application (C#) that copies videos from a CCTV truck to a Linux server. What I am trying to do is convert the .AVI videos(which is how they are created on the truck) to .WMV in my C# code using Windows Media Encoder. I have a virtual directory to the truck location of the videos. I also have a virtual directory created to the Linux box. The application resides on a Windows Server 2003 and I am using VS 2005, .NET...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
