Hello :)
Into group-archive i found most e-mails, which touches PINGing.
In my work i've used TELNET for testing if host is operational.
Sometimes, for unknown reasons, workstation doesn't respond
for PINGing. But in WinNT network, all hosts has a nbsession
listening on port 139. I always use this script instead PING
command (hope, will be usefull for someone :) ):

Hi! I'm trying to write a small application for an online gaming site
(flight sims), where people can add their local server to a list.
Basically, I just need to be able to loop/ping each respective server
- via a specific port (2934 or 2935) to see whether the server is

I have Live internet connection terminated on Router.
And router has its inbuilt DHCP having 192.168.0.* network
I have 2 machines, 1 PC and 1 Laptop.
I am connecting both the machines to router to get internet access. as well as intranet (My home network between two machines.)
Previously I get IP 192.168.0.100 for PC and IP 192.168.0.101 for Laptop. from Router based dhcp.

So...here we go. I'm having an issue with one computer on a network not being able to ping other computers by name. I've spent the last day searching similar issues and I've tried all the steps recommended. If anyone has some suggestions, I'd love to give them a try - this is driving me nuts!!

really need some help..
i have 2 networked pc's using my gigabit switch.
i assigned them ip address of the same range(10.10.10.100 & 101) and i can ping both.
i change the ip address of the other 1 with different ip range(192.168.0.220) because i am going to connect my pc to the internet through my office internet settings.

I am sending semi automated emails within my access database using our companies internal smtp server.
One of the issues I had was capturing whether people were connected to the lan to be able to send these emails.
I decided to use a ping to test whether the server was giving a response, if it was then they must be connected and if not then they arent.

Is there an easy way to just ping a server by IP or URL and return the minimum, maximum and average milliseconds?
Actually the same results I get in CMD when using the ping command. Can't find any tutorial that describes it.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
