Well the best way to learn is get a job that requires you to work in that field. However most companies won't hire you unless you have skills. The way I got started in it was I was hired on as an IT PC Tech and they were outsourcing their networking. My VP wanted me to take over the networking so sent me to training to get my MCSE.

Hands on is key for networking. Problem will be the equipment. If you can get the equipment, you can try things from one of the an online tutorials
but if you cannot get access to the equipment, then I do not see how you can get practice without taking a class

Yea equiptment is key, my suggestion is getting a job with the equiptment and gives you the access to play with it. If you are not able to get a job doing this you can always rent a dedicated server from my website http://aeondomains.com and test it out their via Plex or any other remote software.

In different articles that I have read, persons have constantly eluded to the productivity gains of Python. One person stated that Python's productivity gain was 5 to 10 times over Java in some in some cases. The strange thing that I have noticed is that there were no examples of this productivity gain (i.e., projects, programs, etc.,...). Can someone give me some real life examples of productivity gains using Python as opposed other...

In the interview, when interviewers ask how much experience you have in C/C++. Do they mean work experience in C/C++, or programming experience in C/C++? Do they consider college projects as experience as well? For example, if I have 1 year of C/C++ work experience, but 3 years of C/C++ college projects programming experience. How many years of experience I should tell the interviewer? 1 year or 4 years? I am really confused with the...

(The actual database is more complex but it will do for the purposes of this post) I want to return Location, MachineName and the sum of the hours between two dates. I have a datalist displaying parent information and a datagrid presenting child information. The data is being rendered just fine. The datagrid has template columns on it that I cannot gain access to in my Itemcommand event of the datalist. When I press a button on the datalist, that brings me into the Itemcommand event. I have access to the datagrid control, but not any column controls on the datagrid. For instance, my first column is...

I'm using a function like this: char TextBuffer; jGet_DropDown_Selected_Text( cc.ddSex, TextBuffer); Where the function is filling in the text buffer. I don't have access to the actual function to change it to a std::string (it's a library function) so I was thinking, well, I could use a std::vector<charinstead of a char array, but would that actually gain me anything at all? I mean, what's the difference between calling it like the...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
