hello sir,
i'm doing a project in Mobile Adhoc network in ns2 simulator
i have to perform routing with AODV..
my problem is i have to disable certain nodes ( in a 20 node topology) from performing the routing operation....only some mentioned nodes have to perform routing.....is it possible to disable some nodes ????

I have a problem while trying to ping my comp using alias. I get Reply from ::1: ... why is this happening? when i ping using my ip address, it's fine.
I have a Cisco VPN adapter installed, could it be that's it's causing the trouble?

I have an application, which has a few server connections. Any suggestions on how to find out the way application resolves the IP addresses of the servers. For example;
a. is it looking into local hosts file first?
b. is it always requiring DNS to resolve the IP from the name without even looking into hosts file?
