error while opening VS

Hi All,

I am getting following error while opening the VS2008/VS2005.Please find attached screenshot.

I fixed the problem by reinstalling VS2008, but curios to know why this error has occured.

I don't know if it is what you need but found something in MS Knowledge Base Error message when ASP.NET 2.0 is configured to run with a user account: "Unable to generate a temporary class"

Hi Monomachus,

Thanks for the reply. I referred the link but found something not in the context.

Please note that the error is confronted when I am trying to the Open - VS IDE and not while running any ASP.net application.

Could you please post the error because I can't see that image?
Also, could you provide more details on what is causing the error?

Thanks for the reply.

Here is the error I am getting

The message is

Unable to generate a temporary class (result = 1)
error CS0583 : Internal Compiler Error..Likely culprit is SCAN
error CS0584 : Internal Compiler Error : Stage SCAN symbol

At the very end it says

error CS0587 : Internal compiler error : Stage COMPILE Symbol "Microsoft.Xml.Serialization.GenerateAssembly"

The occured when I am trying to Open the IDE from

Start -->All Programs --> Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 ->

Please help .
