Deleting Files on a CD ROM

I have XP. I have some SONY CD-Roms 700 MB; when I try to delete files I get
the following error message:

Files on this CD are read only.

Is there anyway I can change the files so that they can be deleted?
The files on the CD ROM were copied from my Word and Excel files.
Thanks

No. ROM = Read Only Memory, so you can't change its content.

Wrong newsgroup, BTW.
