Devconnections vs PDC

Can anybody describe the difference between these two conferences to
me? Has anybody gone to both? They seem very similar. I'd like to go
to one this year (rather than tech ed), but I really can't see what
the differences are.

If it helps, my focus this year will be on Sharepoint 2007 with a
little mobile tossed in the mix. Architecture and development, not
administration.
Thanks!

Well I've never been to Devconnections, but I have been to PDC, TechEd
and VSLive.

PDC is unique in that it's all about future technologies from
Microsoft (at least that's the way it's been in the past, I believe I
read somewhere that the focus would change somewhat towards current
technoogies this year). Much of what you see and learn about at the
PDC will not be available for years, and will likely look radically
different once and if it actually gets released.

Most other conferences are more about current or near-future
technologies. I'm guessing that goes for Devconnections as well.

So if MOSS 2007 is your focus, I think your money is better spent on
Devconnections.
