I am an older person trying to learn C# just for the fun of it. I am a
veteran of older style languages (COBOL, FORTRAN, etc.) and I want to learn
an Object Orientated language. Currently working my way through Murach's C#
by Joel Murach and Doug Lowe. Since I am not taking a course, I have no one
to whom I can address questions. That is...

Hello,
According to MS's web site, VS 2005 will be coming out "in the first
half of 2005", which isn't very helpful. That could be anytime between
tomorrow and the end of June. I am interested in getting VS, but I don't
see the point of buying VS 2003 (which isn't cheap), only to have it
outdated in a few months.
On the other hand, I...

Hello,
I am in process evaluating different reporting tools. I did use CR 9 product
in the past, but I can't say that I had good experience with it. I am just
curious if anyone has tried the latest version IX from BusinessObjects. What
do you think of it? I am specifically interested to know if they fixed all
the performance and memory...

Hi,
I have just written a simple program to get me started in C that
calculates the number of days since your birthdate.
One thing that confuses me about the program (even though it works) is
how global variables and function returns work...
For example, I have a global array "char datestring;" which is
defined in the function speakdate....

Can anybody describe the difference between these two conferences to
me? Has anybody gone to both? They seem very similar. I'd like to go
to one this year (rather than tech ed), but I really can't see what
the differences are.
If it helps, my focus this year will be on Sharepoint 2007 with a
little mobile tossed in the mix. Architecture and...

This thread is similar to the thread (Select only 10 columns going back) that I posted regarding the dynamic selection of data going back one month at a time for 12 months. Here is the qiote fron the other thread (#3) :
This time, the difference is in how the data from the table is presented. I constructed the table from a series of data...

As Instructed this is a new thread regarding my original post: "Select Only 10 Columns Going Back"

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
