Encoding the SOAP

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is any way of encoding the XML braces "<", ">" in
the SOAP request? I realise that the answer is very probably no but I have a
modem combined GPS unit and it is switched between operating modes by
sending it a string such as >GPS< or >GPRS<, it seems that it handles >< as
a request to drop out of GPRS mode. This is not helpful as it sees the "><"
combination between the SOAP request envelope and body!

Any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for the response, AFAIK that would work as far as the modem is
concerned but I really think that it is the worng approach - I doubt it is
valid SOAP. I have been in touch with the modem vendors and they admit it is
a problem and there is new firmware on the way.
