Office PIA and Office 97/2000

Hi all-

I have an application that I'm working on where I need to export some
data to Excel. I'm currently doing this by creating (the Excel
specific) XML and using the Office XP PIA to convert that to an Excel
file.

Unfortunately, I found that several of our clients are still using old
versions of Office (97 and 2000) on old versions of Windows (98 and
2000).

Is there a PIA layer that supports old versions of Office?

The vague follow up, since I am sure I'm out of luck on what I *want*,
is if anybody has any suggestions on how to export arbitrary data to an
Excel file from a .NET application.
..
Thanks for any suggestions!
-Eric.

Doesn't look like it. I guess you'll have to make your own interops.

Update: Looks like the interop assemblies should work with 2000:

"This way you can make sure that your project can run with Office 2000 and
later (but not necessarily with Office 97). "
