General question - I'm installing Office 2003 on a machine that has
Office 2000 installed. Are there any gothcas I need to worry about? I
plan to uninstall the 2000 stuff if I can (they don't have a cd, the
machine was set up by the dealer). For dual installations of office
products, I know I must be careful about spefifying seprate directories.

I'd strongly suggest to remove the previous installation of Office
2000.
You don't need Office 2000 installation discs to remove it; you can do
this via 'Add or Remove Programs' in the Control Panel.

One other remark though...
If you think you still need to create A2k mde's (e.g. for other clients that do not have A2003) then you need A2k for that.
In that case do not remove Access2000.
I have Access 2.0, Office Pro '97, Office Pro 2000 and Office Pro 2003 'happily' together on my PC.
Not a big problem as long as you use seperate install-dirs.
(I know a lot of us here have more Office versions installed)

I recently picked up a copy of Office 2003, but have installed it
(replacing my existing installation of Office XP Pro) yet because...
I am in the middle of a client project using Access 2002 with Access
2000 file format (the client has Office 2000 in their offices).
I am concerned that replacing Office XP Pro (Access 2002) with Office
2003 (Access 2003) may cause backward compatibility issues.

I have a .NET Solution (currently in 2003, FW 1.1) that uses Office
automation for a few things (generates a Word document, dumps datagrids
to Excel, etc.). One of my programmers works on the project from time
to time. We always have problems when he loads up the latest version

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
