.NET Windows Component Update CD

Hello

Today when installing .NET on Windows XP Pro with all critical updates, etc. installed, I noticed I never had to use the Windows Component Update CD. I successfully got through the installation and rebooted with no problems. Does this mean that I have all the components installed that I need.....or did I miss a step and my .NET installation is doomed

Thanks a lot in advance
