Content-Type text/xml Vs application/x-www-form-urlencoded

I have created a web service using C#. This basically receives a
string as a parameter and returns an XML string. There is a specific
requirment that the users should be able to call this web service
using HTTP POST.

This works fine as long as I call this web service by setting the
content type as application/x-www-form-urlencoded. But the moment I
use text/xml, I get the following error.

System.InvalidOperationException: Request format is invalid: text/xml.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.HttpServerProtocol.R eadParameters()
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebServiceHandler.In voke()
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebServiceHandler.Co reProcessRequest()

I tested my web service with the following code

Dim myDom As New DOMDocument
Dim myHttp As New XMLHTTPRequest
Dim strRequest As String

myDom.Load ("c:\xyz.xml")
myHttp.Open "POST",
"http://localhost/service1/service1.asmx/getFile", False
myHttp.SetRequestHeader "Content-Type", "text/xml"
myHttp.SetRequestHeader "charset", "utf-8"

myHttp.SetRequestHeader "Content-Length", Len(myDom.xml)

strRequest = "strXmlReceived=" & myDom.xml
myHttp.Send strRequest
MsgBox myHttp.ResponseText

It looks like, whenever I am accessing through HTTP Post I need to set
the content type as application/x-www-form-urlencoded.

Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance.
