MySQL DB Modifications

Okay, what is the best route on creating an application that will give a user capability to read/write/addnew/delete records from a MySQL database or table. I'm currently persuing Visual C++, but I'm kinda stuck on not being able to update records without having recordset set to dynaset, which MySQL ODBC does not support. Anyone have any suggestions??
