I have been trying to use a MySQL database with PHP having a date/time field set to timestamp(14).
It keeps being set to a string of all zeroes (00000000000000). This happens evn if I use a query
with a NULL value...
....the field is supposed to keep a record of modifications made to client records, so the TimeStamp
value seemed to be the...

I have been using MySql as the database using JSP's and JavaBeans but
recently I have wanted to start using the database connection pooling
mechanism built into TomCat. I think I am having a problem with
defining my JDBC resource within Tomcat. I am pretty sure that my code
is
correct (but I am not certain), and the problem is with...

Well.... just wanted to know if the people at the MySQL.org site ever
look at the posts in this group. If they do, they can possibly us a
little constructive criticism from a slightly irritated customer.
Seems to me that if someone installs Redhat 9 with MySQL from the
original CD source which is version 3.23.54a and then follows the...

I also posted similarly in mailing.database.mysql
I have created a rather large (60 table database) website dealio in PHP that
works with MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and presumably any other data base I
add to
the wrapper functions that I created. All the development was done in
Oracle, but now its time to create that large datastructure...

Hi,
I am trying to run the MySQL DB on a Linux machine that is part of a home
LAN (IP=192.168.0.3), while trying to access it from another WinXP machine
(IP=192.168.0.5). I keep getting the following error:
MySQL Error Number 1130
#HY000Host '192.168.0.5' is not allowed to this MySQL server
Ping works fine.

I'm pretty much a newbie on mysql, and I need some help.
I am running mysql Ver 12.22 Distrib 4.0.24, for portbld-freebsd5.4
(i386) on a server hosting an active website.
The site's developer uses his own php shopping cart to receive customer

I've read the MySQL licensing material and what I've found online, but
I'm still unclear about when I have to pay MySQL for a license.
Scenario: I've created an application that stores some data in MySQL
5.0 (InnoDB table types). It connects to MySQL 5.0 via MyODBC.
1.) If I include MySQL 5.0 and MyODBC in the installer, do I have to
buy...

I've been given a project to work with which involves connecting to
MySQL from .NET 2.0 app. I've googled looked and there is a metric ton
of different MySQL ADO.NET providers from different people.
Is there a consensus on which one is the most stable, more or less
supported and has good support for the standard MySQL features (e.g.
stored...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
