How to use Application Resource files in a multiple project solution?

Hi,

I have datalayer, business layer, asp.net layer, unit test layer etc. I
would like to centralize my strings to keep things neat. Ideally, the
business layer strings would be in a resource file in the business layer,
the datalayer strings in the data layer etc.....

Given a datalayer called "dl", a business layer called "bl", a asp.net layer
called "pl" and a unit test (console application e.g.) called "test".

Given each project has a file called "res.resx" with some string defined...
How the heck to i get the "bl" to get strings from its local res file, the
"dl" from its local res file etc...

Also, is using the VS IDE to create and edit these ".resx" files the way to
go? That's what i am trying but to no avail.
