Geometric Shape Recognition & Find Extreme Points in C#

6 New Member
Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to recognize geometric shape using C#?

I have geometric shapes like triangle, hexagon, pentagon, diamond, square, parallel ogram, rectangle, etc.
I have drawn all these shapes using mspaint.

i have one picture box, using opendialog i am selecting any of the geometric shapes, into picturebox.
I want to identify the shape of the image & extreme points. As it is hand made image, i want to draw a proper image using extreme points.

If anyone has some code or some references, then please send it to me...

I need it very very urgently.

Thanks,
Riya

You can forget about the "urgently" part. Shape recognition is not something you are going to learn and comprehend after reading a 4 paragraph description.

Hi, Monomachus

Earlier I already tried that link, but it is giving error. I am not able to build the program properly. If you can help me in building the program then it will be really very helpful, as i am new to C# & also shape recognition.

I am not able to understand the flow of that program.

Actually, I need to submit the program in the college within next week, so if somebody can help me in this then it will be really gr8.

Doing school work for students is strictly against policy. We can help you with problems not directly related to the writing of code for your project, but that's about it.

I am not able to build the program properly.
You need to be more specific. Why will your project not build? What is the error you are getting when you try to build?

Hi,

Sorry i am modifying my previous post question, with more clarification.

I need to compare 2 jpeg images, both contains same geometric shapes like triangle, hesagon, pentagone, square, etc.

I need to convert the jpg image into binary format and then compare them.

If both are not equal then find the extreme points and draw the proper shape of the image.

So, After converting it into binary, how can i find vectors of all the points and then extreme points?

Thanks
Riya

Hi there, I'm developing a shape recognition application for the tablet PC for a) fun b) university project. Currently I'm working on the learning stage using neural networks, and have to store a load of learning data (a 25 by 25 matrix) each shape group has a number of user drawn shapes, then the application will create variations of these shapes (by moving nodes and drawing lines into the matrix between nodes, after normalization). So...

Is it normal or i have made mistake somewhere ? How does find() compares objects ? Maybe i should have written some compare() function ? Thanx Michal

When more than one keyword is typed into a search-query, most of the search-results displayed indicate specified keywords scattered throughout an entire website of content i.e., this is shown as three bolded periods '...' in search-result listings. Additionally, most content is outdated; as many users need up-to-date content. Hence, filtering-through search-results becomes quite cumbersome. The newsgroup listings allow detailed...

I suspect the answer to this question is that it's impossible, but how do I make the below code work, at the point where it breaks (marked below). See error CS0411 This is the complete code. Copy and paste it into VS2008 for a Windows Forms application. With some effort I can do the job with a user defined function, but my question is whether I can do it using the built in library function "Array.Find" and a predicate that takes...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
