Problems with <xsl:param name Help!

Hello everybody,

I tried to make a XSL:FO - Sheet where I can control if the PDF should
be printed in portrait or landscape.
My results so far:

<xsl:param name="printingt ype" select="'landsc ape'">
<xsl:variable name="pageheigh t">
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when
test="$printing type='landscape '">21</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise> 29.7</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:variable>
<xsl:variable name="pagewidth ">
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when
test="$printing type='landscape '">29.7</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise> 21</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:variable>

It works, but not in that way I want ^^
And now my question: How can I control the | select="'landsc ape'" |
value... I tried everything, but I must say that I'm not long familiar
with XSL...

A nice hint would be very nice ;)

greets

Hi I've made a stylesheet to transform my data into XSL-FO. This stylesheet used to work with MSXSL 4.0 but I've got some issues in ..NET. First, I changed removed all the "node-set()" function since they're not used anymore. But now, I used an <xsl:apply-templates/> and for some reason, it works in some situation but not in others. I didn't put the whole XSL file since it's quite big. Here's the part that bugs

Hi, I have an xsl as below. I am trying to loop using <xsl:for-each> and in the select attribute of <xsl:for-each> i am getting the nodeset from the external javascript function in the <CDATA> section. This code works fine with MSXML4.0 parser. When I try to use .Net, it gives me error saying " The expression passed to this method should result in a NodeSet."

I have a file with topics. I like to copy them in another file but want to have some blank lines between the different topics. I use <xsl:text> element with as data some blank lines to perform this. To clarify my question, I have add all the files required to perform the test. First question: Why doesn't this works anymore if I remove the line with " " in the XSL-file ?

What will the expression "/.." in the attribute select="/.." return? I just inherited a huge stylesheet to maintain which has a lot of parameters such as <xsl:param name="myParam" select="/.."/>. And then there is a lot of conditional processing based on this parameter. I stepped thru the code with a debugger in Oxygen and saw that the param is always empty (0 nodes selected). I am trying to figure what the original author of the...

I have been having some trouble getting my XSL style sheet to parse correctly. I have some XML outputted from an SQL-Server, that I then need to turn into multiple HTML files. This I have done with moderate success using Saxon and <xsl:result-document>, but Saxon is throwing an error and I don't know how to resolve it. Maybe someone can offer some advice? This is a long question, for which I apologise... OS= Windows XP Pro, Saxon=8.8 XML...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
