First off I do not know alot about writing queries to an Access
Database from an ASP page. This is why I need help.
I have an Events database for 6 colleges in our metro area. On the
homepage I have to display the next event for each college. That would
give me 6 events listed on the page. I have been trying to figure out
how to write a query statement in my ASP page to select just the most
current event from each college. I have not had...

Not a problem. You could make a fixed string inside your HTML file (eg
inside a comment tag). Then read the file and replace that string by
your XML output result, before showing in to screen.

Hi,
I try to write an asp query form that lets client search any text-string and
display all pages in my web server that contain the text. I have IIS 6.0 on a
server 2003. The MSDN site says there is a sample file called Ixtrasp.asp,
but I could not find it in my system although I installed indexing service. I
followed the steps in MSDN site to create a basic .asp query form (too long
to post it here), but it always displays:
No...

Hi
I need to open an html file from the file system and embed that html file
within my main aspx form.
I have 2 questions:
1) How do I open the html file? I tried the File.open(Path, mode) didnt work.
2) I would like to display the html file at a certain location in my main
aspx page. How can I achieve this?
I'm brain dead and I have to finish this tonight! Please help.
Thanks

I am trying to build a web application that will contain
links to files on a users local computer. I am assuming
that the files will be in a known location and can display
in a browser window.
I have my ASP.NET application building links along the
lines of
file://c:/<path to file>

I have a gridview that's being populated from an access db query. The
problem I'm having is that the date/time fields in access that are
populating the gridview are showing both date and time, when the field
should only be showing one or the other (date or time).
Even on the back end of the database where the column properties are, I
have chosen the smallest date/time formats. When the aspx page runs, it
shows the date and time (ie:in a...

Hi Guys,
I am trying to include my little script in my html report.
I have done an external JS file which contains it.
If you remember, you have helped me to detect if the asp page was
present by using ajax.
If not present is gracefully stay silent.
The problem is now that when the JS is not present (and it can be) MSIE
gives a lot of errors and one has to kill it.

Hi,
I have one table like :
MyTable {field1, field2, startdate, enddate}
I want to have the count of field1 between startdate and enddate, and
the count of field2 where field2 = 1 between startdate and enddate,
all in the same query.

I am starting to find more web pages that are using a query parameters
after the JavaScript file.
Example can be found at www.opensourcefood.com. Within the source
you'll see: <script src="/shared/scripts/common.js?revision=1.6"
type="text/javascript">.
I am trying to see if there is any big deal to this or a best practice
that is starting to creep up in the JavaScript community. If this is
used only as a way to distinguish what...

Hello good people,
Please bear with me as this is my first post and I am relative new to ASP. I do have VB6 experience. I have a form which enables users within our company to do an intranet reservation of available resources (laptops, beamers, etc). The MySql database queries are already in place, as is the ASP administration panel. The frontend that users will see however, still needs some work. I'm really close, but since I'm no...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
