Hello,
I have two XML files. File#1 has a namespace. File#2 does not.
I am storing some XML from File#1 in File#2, therefore, the node has a
namespace attribute.
Later, I remove the node from File#2 and append it back to File#1. The
node keeps it's namespace attribute even though File#1 has a default
namespace of equal value.
The problem is, the software that reads File#1 is refusing to read the
file with the extra namespace tags, even though the tags have the same
value.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get around this problem?
Many Thanks. 3 2112
P.S. I am using DOM in a VB6 application.

Hi,
You need to show us the actual XML snippets for us to be sure, but from
what you say, the XML is conforming to spec and the software is not.

Hi,
the following test program shows a solution to a problem I have had.
Now, this test program is compiled and linked by VS2003 and g++
while Comeau-on-line-compiler fails with this messages:
"ComeauTest.c", line 21: error: constant "COuter::ID" is inaccessible
int i = COuter::ID;

Hi,
I usually use "using namespace <namespace_name>" to reference a
namespace. Today I run across a code, in its header file it has this,
namespace SP1{
class C1;
}
While SP1::C1 is a namespace::class declared and defined somewhere
else. It seems the above 3 lines is similar to "using namespace SP1;",

I am having a problem deserializing XML when the root node is missing a
namespace declaration. My Type has an XmlTypeAttribute with a namespace
defined. If I attempt to deserialize the XML, I get the dreaded
<elementname xmlns=''> was not expected
exception. If I comment out the XmlTypeAttribute, it works just fine. Just
so you know, when I instantiate an instance of an XmlSerializer, I pass a
default namespace to the ctor. ...

Hi,
I would like to add BitArrays to an ArrayList and then remove any duplicates
- can someone please help me forward. I seem to have (at leaset ;-) )2
problems/lack of understanding (see test code below):
(a)When adding BitArrays to the ArrayList and then looping through the
ArrayList I seem to access only the latest added BitArray and I'm not exactly
clear on best way to access each BItArray in the ArrayList
(b)When I try to remove...

I was debugging a new XML generator tonight and trying to determine why
it wasn't working; and realised my dom printer does not output XML
namespace declarations.
My method to output an Element is as follows:
/**
* Print an element node, and, by recursive descent, it's children
*
* @param node the node to print

Hi,
I have two namespace contains class InkFrame and PrefDialog
respectively. PrefDialog needs InkFrame to show the dialog over the
frame. It also stores a pointer to InkFrame inside it.
Now I want InkFrame to be forward declared in the PrefDialog header
file rather than to be included. I want to include it in the cpp file
instead. There is no harm including it in PrefDialog header, and it
works. But I want to save some compilation time....

Hi,
Sorry for the bad subject, but i couldn't figure a better one.
I would like to understand why a variable declared non static in a
header causes multiple symbol definitions (if included in different
compilation units) while the same declaration in a namespace does not.
Also, what is the correct way to declare a scoped variable in a
header ? Using extern and declaring it in a separate compilation

I decided to make a single file containing all the repetitive
functions in K&R so that I could concentrate on the new discussions.
This went along just fine, and with each new function, added the
declaration to foo.h and the function to foo.c. Then, on one
compilation, I suddenly got a massive number of failures and warnings.
Like
"Redefinition errors. errors complaining about a variable not having
been declared, when it was etc"

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
