What are you talking about?
You have to clearly define what your project is and how you've implemented the solution before we can understand the problem.
From what I can gather, you have implemented a Web Application, or Web Site, using standard web forms.
You have also implemented a Web Service (using WCF).
Ajax may or may not fit somewhere into this whole picture... but you haven't stated if you're forbidden to use Ajax, or if you're simply not using Ajax yet.
There are a couple of ways you can consume a Web Service. Your server code (C# or VB.NET code) can consume it. Or you can use Ajax to consume the web service.
Right now I'm guessing that your server code is consuming the web service.
And for some reason you're always calling the web service (why are you always calling the web service?)......
And you might either want to use Ajax consume the web service instead of your C# or VB.NET code....or you're not allowed to use Ajax.
Please be very clear when you ask your question, because right now we can't help you based on what you've asked.

Can I determine if an array of image links is already in memory
without using cookies or a hidden frameset? Scenario: visitor starts
with Home page, images (links) for navigation pre-load no problem.
Visitor follows search engine link and does not land on Home, thus no
links. But if I put the same code on every page to allow for that,
won't the images re-load every time those pages are loaded? If so,
there's be no point in pre-loading.

I have one page that may take a while to process on the server, and I'd like
to implement a please wait message on this page when it posts back to the
server and does its business.
The page is an ASP.NET webform that contains a Web User Control. The Web
User Control is doing all of the work posting. How can I inform the user of
what is happening at the server while the data from this web user control is
being processed?

Hello,
I have created an asp.net web page with 3 datagrids. Every datagrid
binds to a diferent sql query, against a sql server. I first bind
one, then the other and then the last, all using code on Page_Load
event.
When I load this page, the navigator doesn't show anything until the
page load finish. Then I can see the results of the 3 datagrids.

I have an interesting issues that, although I not blocking me, is not very
performance. Maybe someone can suggest a better way of doing this.
1) I have a page that displays a grid with command links such as Delete.
Obviously if this link will delete the item of the current line.
2) The grid is initialized during the Init event so that the events can be
bound. It is my understanding that events do not get fired unless the
object...

I've got a page with a user control on it. While the page is loading, it
needs to check certain conditions of the user object to enable/disable
things on the screen. Currently in the page_load of the user control I do
things like read from the database on the first load, set some internal
variables, ...
If I need those things to be available to me on the page load, should I do
them on page_init? Are there any ramifications of using...

I'm coming from an ISAPI background and migrating code to Webservices.
In the ISAPI world, there are sections of code that are invoked only once
when the DLL is loaded by IIS. It's a place where you can do time-consuming
resource loading once and only once.
In .NET Webservices, I figured that the section at the bottom of this
message would be called once upon the loading of the Webservice. From that
point on, only the methods...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
